A couple people told me before leaving the U.S. that upon arriving to India I would experience all five senses, this statement could have been more true, even just as we exited the Bombay Airport. The strong smell and heat immediately hits, especially coming from a New Jersey winter. A lot of times people will refer to a concrete jungle but I can now attest, that statement is much more true for Mumbai. The city is truly a blend of jungle and modern city all coinciding with slums and colorful street markets packed with people. Each Temple we visited was similar is some ways such as segregating women and men when viewing Idols, but were all extremely different in nature which help hint of the true diversity of Mumbai. Overall great first day!
